Jeff Stelling predicts Everton v West Ham scoreline as Premier League fixtures resume

Jeff Stelling doesn’t see Everton picking up their first win of the Premier League season when they welcome West Ham to Goodison Park on Sunday.

Frank Lampard has overseen four draws and two defeats in his side’s first six league games of the 2022/23 campaign, with all of the draws coming in the last four games.

Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday host Stelling expects to see another Toffees stalemate this weekend too, writing on the Super6 website that he predicts the game against West Ham to end as a 1-1 draw.

Fair enough

Everton and West Ham have both had poor starts to the Premier League season.

Both have lost games they shouldn’t have and both have dropped points when they probably shouldn’t have too.

As it stands, the Hammers are in the relegation zone purely due to their goal difference as David Moyes’ side has the same number of points as the Blues.

West Ham, however, have a win on the board whereas Everton and bottom-of-the-table Leicester are the only teams yet to register three points in match so far this term.

Everton

It’s still too early to pay proper attention to the Premier League table.

However, the top-half of the league is starting to take shape by the looks of things with five of the big-six teams occupying the top-six positions with managerless Brighton, as it stands, fourth.

At the bottom, there are some you wouldn’t expect to see down here like West Ham, Leicester and maybe Aston Villa.

Everton were in a relegation battle last term so it’s no surprise we are where we are in the league table right now.

Let’s hope three points come the way of the Toffees against West Ham to put them under more pressure and start to make things look a bit more comfortable for Lampard.
