Salomón Rondón and Allan leaving Everton could open door for Mohammed Kudus January deal
Everton duo Salomon Rondon and Allan could be set to leave the club – and that could make room for a January swoop for Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus.
90min report (16 September) that Allan and Rondon are attracting plenty of attention from the Middle East with the Toffees happy to let both players exit the club.
The Independent’s Miguel Delaney revealed (1 September) that Everton had a £15million bid rejected for Ghanaian and with news of Allan and Rondon potentially leaving, Everton could well have the means to launch another bid.
There have been murmurings from journalists that Everton’s chance to sign the 22-year-old may have been and gone with Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor suggesting (1 September) that his Champions League exploits could have priced himself out of a move to Goodison Park.
However, with two exits potentially on the cards, the Toffees may have the financial wriggle room to move for the attacker again in January.
Rondon hasn’t had a great time during his spell at the club, but he will need to be replaced by another attacking player in the winter should he move on.
Allan has also endured a stop-start career with the Toffees and will be among the club’s highest earners. If Everton can shift him off the wage bill along with Rondon then Lampard will have room to manoeuvre.
Kudus’ form for Ajax has been scintillating, particularly in the Champions League, but whether he is ready to feature regularly for one of the bigger Premier League clubs is still up for debate.
A move to the Premier League can sometimes be more of an incentive than featuring in the Champions League and Everton must try their best to land the Ghanian in January, even if it means paying over the odds.
