Leicester City man lauds Everton for hiring former Chelsea employee Jack Nayler

Leicester city employee Oliver Morgan has lauded Everton for appointing former Chelsea and Real Madrid practitioner Jack Nayler as the new Head of Sports Science.

Morgan, who works as the Head of Academy Performance and Support at the Foxes, knows Nayler personally.

He has tweeted a glowing account of his after the Toffees made the announcement that they had hired him.

Via Twitter, Morgan wrote, “A great appointment. A fantastic practitioner and person.”

Good appointment

Via their official website on Thursday, Everton confirmed that they had appointed Nayler to head their Sports Science department after his recent stint at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

This should be viewed as a good appointment as not only has Carlo Ancelotti worked to numerous levels of success with him, but he’s also got the experience of working at big clubs.

Having Chelsea PSG and Real Madrid on one CV is never a bad thing and hopefully, he can bring some professionalism and modern changes to Goodison Park.

Often, Everton have been criticised for not adapting to the times and living up to what’s expected of them in the transfer market.

Under Marcel Brands, they may have signed really good players but they often overspent for them and then had problems shipping them on due to their hefty wages.

Having a data-driven approach to the game would benefit the Toffees a great deal and we may see signs of progress as early as the January transfer window.
