Everton get potential boost as Southampton could be without key player ahead of the Premier League clash

Everton will face Southampton in their next Premier League game after the international break on Saturday (1 October) at St Mary’s.

The Toffees may have got a potential boost as Southampton could be without one of their key players in Che Adams for that game, as per Football Scotland.

Adams looks set to miss Scotland’s match against Ukraine due to illness, and there is a chance that he could miss the clash against the Toffees as well.

Boost

It remains to be seen if Adams would be fit to play against the Toffees this weekend.

He hasn’t picked up an injury though, and maybe he could recover in time.

Nevertheless, if he misses out, the Toffees will receive a big boost as Adams is a fantastic player who can score goals and hurt the Toffees.

Having said that, the Toffees need to focus on their own game plan. Frank Lampard would definitely be missing a key defender in Nathan Patterson who picked up an injury while playing for Scotland.

Everton

The Toffees have made a fantastic recovery after a poor start to the season.

They lost their opening two games against Chelsea and Aston Villa, but have recovered well to remain undefeated in their last five games.

Ahead of the international break, they also picked up their first win of the season, defeating West Ham 1-0 at Goodison Park where Neal Maupay scored the winner.
