Everton one of six Premier League clubs in accredited payment group

Everton are one of only six Premier League clubs who are accredited by the Living Wage Foundation for the payment of their staff, according to BBC Sport.

There has been an increased focus on how much each Premier League club is paying all of their staff with the cost of living crisis on the rise and the Toffees have come out of the report shining.

They are accredited by the Living Wage Foundation as paying every single one of their staff, including matchday workers and sub-contractors, the proper living wage as a minimum.

Everton are joined by Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham United in this group while Newcastle United intend to join in the coming weeks and months.

“It’s great clubs are paying the real living wage but we would love to see more and it would be great to see more clubs accredited because that is a signal of long-term commitment,” Living Wage Foundation director Katherine Chapman said.

Community

Everton know better than most clubs just how crucial the community and fanbase are to a football club having been helped over the line to safety last season by the incredibly passionate Evertonians.

So the last thing they will want to do is screw any of them helping out on matchdays, or any other days for that matter, by not paying them enough to live happily.

Everton

They are almost pioneers in this business with the majority of the Premier League yet to join the Living Wage Foundation accreditation list despite many claiming they already do the necessary requirements to do so.

Farhad Moshiri is not the most popular person in Liverpool but even he knows that the people of the city will not stand for one of their own being screwed in any fashion and especially when it comes to cash.

The club have to commit to staying in this group and ensuring that their local community are looked after in any way they can be.
