Newcastle United take ‘serious interest’ in £50m Everton target Mykhaylo Mudryk
Newcastle United have taken a “serious interest” in Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mkyhaylo Mudryk and are ready to compete with Everton for his signature, according to iNews.
The Ukrainian winger has garnered major attention from clubs across Europe after his performances in the Champions League for Shakhtar this season.
After Everton had a £26.2m bid turned down during the summer, with the Ukrainian club holding out for £50m and the Magpies have now entered the race alongside the Toffees, Arsenal, Brentford and Liverpool.

Newcastle are keen on signing a winger in the summer but ultimately couldn’t find a deal that suited them, but Mudryk’s asking price is “not beyond them” and a January move is likely.
The report from iNews also claims that a source has told them that it is “an absolute certainty that he will be playing in the Premier League in the next 12 months.”
Yikes
Murdyk is an absolutely phenomenal talent, but if Shakhtar are looking at £50m to let him leave then there is simply no way Everton can compete for his signature right now.
The financial troubles that the club have had are well documented and it simply means that that type of fee can’t be afforded right now. While he’s a terrific talent the club must be careful.
He’s an electric winger with great pace, a good goal threat and plenty of creativity but the more clubs that get involved in the race for his signature the more likely it is that he goes elsewhere.
It’s a blow for Everton because obviously he’d be a terrific addition to the squad, and he would fit in perfectly with the style that Lampard wants to implement and the young profile the club are trying to build.
However it’s the right decision not to compete at that price point in reality and the club will have to just keep looking to discover a top young talent to come in, because he’ll be going elsewhere.
