Everton in Premier League top 5 as CIES release fresh findings in last 48 hours
Everton find themselves in the top five in the Premier League in terms of squad age.
According to the CIES Observatory, the Toffees’ average age is 25.6 years.
Arsenal and Southampton make the top two while Fulham and West Ham are 19th and 20th respectively.
Via Twitter, CIES shared the list of all 20 teams and the likes of Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea find themselves in the bottom five despite their riches.
Good work
Since Marcel Brands’ departure, the focus has been on signing young and hungry players at Everton.
They may have signed Salomon Rondon and Andros Townsend but those are anomalies and not the rule at Goodison Park.
Signings like Dwight McNeil, Amadou Onana and James Garner show that the club are backing Frank Lampard to bring the best out of these young players.
Often, talented players do not get recognition because they do not reach the heights they’re expected to reach.
Hopefully, Lampard sees and brings the best out of the young lads and Everton start making strides into the top half of the league
We cannot wait to see how this squad will turn out in the future but have every reason to be optimistic that things will be for the best.
Thelwell has been a successful director in the past and will hopefully do the same thing at Goodison Park.
