Jordan Pickford has had a bright start to the campaign with Everton and now has a scrumptious statistic to back up claims that he is the best in the league.

Pickford has become a focal point of everything great Everton does and has saved the team on countless occasions over the past few campaigns.

It comes as no surprise that the Everton stopper is ranking as the best goalkeeper in the Premier League at the moment and it’s further proof the Blues need to keep hold of him.

Football’s largest detailed football statistics website WhoScored, released their Premier League team of the season so far, based on their ratings from the matches played.

And Pickford came in as the number one choice between the sticks for the team; with an average match rating of 7.26, beating Manchester City’s Ederson and Liverpool’s Alisson to the spot.

However, The Telegraph reported on Saturday 24 September that Manchester United are considering a move for the England international; the Blues will have a fight on their hands.

Pickford is a vital asset to Frank Lampard’s Everton side and his masterly stats all but proves this; the Blues need to keep hold of him.

So it comes as no surprise that one of the Premier League juggernauts are trying to tempt Pickford away from Goodison Park but the Blues must not give in.

It would be hard to find a goalkeeper currently on the market to replace Pickford at such short notice and the Toffees can ill avoid risking starting a second-string goalkeeper from January onwards.

Everton will have the chance to make Pickford put pen to paper; they must do everything in their power to keep him happy and as the no.1 at the club.

It would be foolish to let such a talent slip away; especially one who is ranking ahead of every other goalkeeper in the league.
