Frank Lampard 'really impressed' by Everton summer signing James Garner

Frank Lampard has suggested that he is “really impressed” by Everton summer signing James Garner in training.

The Toffees boss has also suggested that the young midfielder is now “ready to go” as he looks to unleash him.

Garner joined in the summer transfer window from Manchester United and he is yet to feature for his new club.

“I’m really impressed. When he wasn’t fit, he declared that to me. It’s great he played for the England under-21s, now he is ready to go,” said Lampard, as quoted by Liverpool Echo.

Momentum

The Toffees will face Southampton in their next Premier League clash, and maintaining a strong momentum is key.

With the World Cup set to take place in between, no one really knows how the players will approach the games.

The next seven to eight games prior to the World Cup is absolutely vital, and Lampard has urged his players to give their best performances.

Everton picked up their first win prior to the international break against West Ham, and they are now undefeated in their last five games.

Lampard needs to win some games away from home. He has got a poor record away from home and that needs to change.

Garner is a highly talented midfielder and he has got a bright future ahead of him.

There is now tremendous depth in midfield at Goodison Park, despite the fact that Allan left the club earlier this week.

With Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana in the side, Lampard can make the best use of players like Garner and Tom Davies.
