Football365 has shared a statistic that has compared the chances created for Everton for this season in comparison to last season.

Rafa Benitez, who managed the side for the majority of last season, was sacked mid-way through the transfer window despite getting the players he wanted and selling Lucas Digne.

He was replaced by Frank Lampard who struggled to get to grips with the club and fought a valiant relegation battle in which he managed to keep the club up.

While he has been lauded for his work this season and deservedly so, the stats show that actually, the club are still not as creative as they were last season.

The results have been relatively good and the performances have drastically improved since the transfer window closed.

However, the criticism of them not being creative enough has come up and hopefully, Lampard will do something over this international break to make things right.

He has certainly tightened this Toffees backline and Everton now look like a harder team to break down but going forward they still are not playing with the fluidity one would expect from them.

This kind of approach is good but only to a certain limit and if Everton want to avoid a relegation battle, they need to quickly change things around.

A recent study has shown that they’re among the league leaders in terms of squad age so this is an impressionable bunch and Lampard can quickly get them to buy into his philosophy and play more risky football.
