John Ebbrell quits Everton for job at Oldham Athletic
Everton have confirmed John Ebbrell’s exit from Goodison Park with the former Blues midfielder agreeing terms to join Oldham Athletic as their new assistant manager.
Ebbrell, 52, had been working as an Academy Player Senior Development Coach at Finch Farm before joining David Unsworth’s newly-assembled coaching team at Boundary Park.
Everton’s official website announced the news on Saturday (1 October).

All the best, John
Evertonians will no doubt be keeping tabs on Oldham this season.
The Lancashire club is struggling in the National League at the moment as they currently sit in 17th place with just three wins in their opening 11 league games this season.
Oldham aren’t a club you’d expect to see in non-league football but Unsworth has a massive job to turn things around at Boundary Park to return to the EFL.
It’s tough to get out of the National League as only two teams get promoted.
And it’s even tougher when some of the teams in that league are, like Oldham, mainstays of the EFL.
Wrexham, Notts County, Southend, Chesterfield and Scunthorpe are also in that league, as well as some strong sides who’ve been in there a long time like Bromley, Solihull Moors and Boreham Wood.
Unsworth is a great coach though and he’s bound to get the best out of the players there.

Ebbrell has also done wonders in the set-up at Everton.
If Oldham have any up-and-coming youngsters, they’ll no doubt benefit greatly.
