Everton handed chance to sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram in January
Everton could reportedly secure the services of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram in January on a bargain fee.
The 25-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and 90Min’s Graeme Bailey claims that he will be available at a bargain in January.
This should be welcome news for the Toffees as they are among a host of Premier League clubs vying for his services when the window opens.
Bailey said on the Talking Transfers podcast on 4 October, “Yeah, Palace, Leicester, Everton, Fulham and Wolves. He’s doing very well this season and he’s a player that a lot of Premier League clubs have kept a close eye on, but he’s doing a good job in the Bundesliga now.
“He’s available on a Bosman in January, he’s 25, he’d just be a very useful signing for a lot of teams, he’s a typical modern forward and he could move in January. Gladbach won’t be asking for a lot, so his name will come up in January.”
Everton may actually consider making an offer for the player as their links in him aren’t new and have been pursuing his services for at least a year now.
In October 2021, the Toffees were linked with a move for the ‘Phenomenal’ striker who was also in demand in Italy and Germany.
They did not manage to sign Ben Brereton-Diaz on transfer deadline day and will now certainly be looking for another attacker who can play in multiple positions with Thuram fitting the bill.
