Nothing formalised yet for Conor Coady permanent move to Everton

No formal decision has been made when it comes to making Conor Coady’s Everton loan deal permanent according to The Independent.

The Telegraph reported (5 October) that Coady, 29, will be able to join Everton permanently for just £4.5million when his initial loan spell ends.

It’s understood that Everton are likely to make the move permanent with Lampard being a big fan of the England international.

Although he is likely to be an Everton player come the summer, no decision has been made official by Everton as of yet (The Independent, 6 October).

What a signing

Coady has been nothing short of magnificent since his move to Goodison Park in the summer. There was a little bit of doubt over his move to Merseyside, but it’s now clear that Wolves have made a huge mistake in letting the 29-year-old depart Molineux.

His partnership with James Tarkowski has been the key reason behind Everton’s successful start to the season which has seen Frank Lampard’s side rack up the best defensive record in the Premier League after eight games played.

Coady certainly has a number of years left in the tank as well and along with the former Burnley man, they could form a rock-solid base for Everton to be successful over the next three years.

If it’s possible, the Toffees should be looking to make this deal permanent in January to avoid any potential issues heading into the summer.

A player of Coady’s experience could be vital for the younger players that could well come through the academy in the future.
