Stan Collymore predicts result of Everton clash v Manchester United

Everton will face Manchester United in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Sunday (9 October), and Stan Collymore has predicted a draw for this game.

The former Liverpool striker wrote in his column for The Sunday People (page 62) that it is an “absolute dog of a game” and has predicted a 1-1 draw.

The Toffees are in good form at the moment, there is “huge expectation” and the confidence in the team is high after winning 2-1 against Southampton in their last game away from home.

The new signings have made a big impact, and the results are gradually improving.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last six games in the Premier League, and their confidence is high after winning back-to-back games against West Ham and Southampton.

This is a big test for Frank Lampard. The Toffees managed a draw against Liverpool at home, and gave a strong fight to Chelsea despite the defeat.

Everton

But, against the Red Devils, they must smell blood here. They must believe that they can pick up all three points, and go into the match with a positive frame of mind.

United suffered a heavy defeat against Manchester City in their last Premier League game, and the Toffees should look to exploit their fragile confidence.

Despite losing Richarlison this summer, Lampard now has a solid squad at his disposal. There is depth in every area of the pitch. A victory would give them massive confidence for the rest of the season.
