Frank Lampard ‘treading water’ at Everton amid sack talk after defeat v Manchester United
Frank Lampard is “very vulnerable” to the sack at Everton right now, according to 90min journalist Michael Graham after defeat to Manchester United.
The Toffees saw a seven-game unbeaten run snapped after Manchester United turned up at Goodison Park and claimed a 2-1 win on Sunday night.
And now in a new article for 90min [10 October], Graham believes that Lampard could be facing the sack if he can’t turn things around quickly and get Everton flying up the table.

In the article he states that Lampard “does not appear to be making any real progress” with the team, and claiming that he looks “very vulnerable to the sack”.
He also says that the former Chelsea and Derby boss is “treading water right now” at Goodison Park, suggesting that a few more bad results could see him out of a job.
Nonsense
What a load of rubbish that is. Lampard is arguably the best manager we’ve had at the club in years and Everton finally seem to be going in the right direction.
There hasn’t been any noise from the fan base about Lampard potentially leaving or being sacked, with many believing that he has proven himself to be the right man to take the club forward.

Results obviously haven’t been ideal, with just two wins so far this season in the Premier League, but we’ve only lost three times too and two of those were against Chelsea and Manchester United.
Defensively the team is exponentially stronger than it was when he took over, and while improvements are needed going forward the team is still a work in progress.
There is absolutely no way Lampard is or should be under any pressure for his job and Everton are in a far better place than they have been for a while, and with plans being made for January already this should be ignored entirely.
