Finance Expert: Presenting documents to Government should be easy Everton exercise to clear Alisher Usmanov ties
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Dan Plumley has insisted that it should be easy for Everton to clear themselves of Alisher Usmanov should a takeover progress in the coming weeks and months.
It was reported by Ben Jacobs on September 30th that the Premier League and the Government would want to check where any funds would go, and ultimately not benefit Usmanov.
The Finance Expert admitted that Farhad Moshiri and the Toffees would just need to present documents as proof that ties were indeed cut between all parties, describing it as an “easy exercise.”

“I would say so,” he exclusively told Goodison News when asked if presenting documentation would be enough.
“We’ve got a president that’s been set with Roman Abramovic and Chelsea here, so we know what the Government will be looking for and they will be telling the club and Everton will need to deal with that as and when it arises but you’d think given what’s gone on before and the situation should be an easy exercise for Everton to complete.”

Matters have certainly gone quiet on the takeover front over the past week.
Jeffrey Soros and Maciek Kaminski were the two big-hitters linked with a complete takeover of Everton, but it has always been said that Moshiri is more interested in outside investment rather than selling up.
Cutting ties with Usmanov did cost the owner and club money which was tied up in deals such as the numerous sponsorships through his companies, but they have bounced back well.
Thankfully, there should be no backlash from this and any issues can be ironed out quickly it seems.
