Inter Milan want Everton defender Yerry Mina to replace Milan Skriniar

Inter Milan could reportedly bid farewell to defender Milan Skriniar as they’re eyeing a move for Everton centre-back Yerry Mina.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, they could look to cash in on the Slovakia international in January and a move for the Colombian could be on the cards.

The fact that Mina’s contract expires at the end of the season means that the Champions League club will look to sign him on a bargain.

Cash in

We cannot understand a world in which Inter think Mina is going to be an upgrade on Skriniar as that certainly is not the case.

The Slovak defender is a big-name and big-game player who is constantly linked with sides competing at the higher echelons of the European game.

Mina is a player who cannot even shine for a side that nearly got relegated last season and his injury record is atrocious, to say the least.

Even in terms of quality, he’s no longer at the level he once was and he’s not likely to be in Frank Lampard’s plans for the future.

After signing James Tarkowski and Conor Coady, Mina is probably the third or even fourth choice centre-back option at the club.

Mina is likely to be ruled out a few more weeks after playing just one game this season and there’s a very good chance that he does not play more than five games for Everton before parting ways if he leaves in January and that does seem to be the likely option as of now.
