Everton to battle Leeds United and AC Milan to sign Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz

Everton are reportedly in a transfer battle with Leeds United, AC Milan and many other clubs to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

According to Estadio Deportivo on 13 October, the Chile international is not paying too much heed to interest from Milan as he thinks he’ll be way down their priority list.

His contract expires at the end of the season so Milan have the chance of getting him to sign a pre-contract agreement or he would end up being a free agent come the summer.

Everton cannot just sit and let another team secure his services, even if it’s Milan.

Sure, they play in the Champions League and will challenge for the title, but they may not give him a regular spot in the team.

If Brereton Diaz wants to play every week, then Everton certainly is the club for him and Frank Lampard may even look to build his attack around him.

It can also boil down to the fact that the 23-year-old is settled in England and does not really want to move away from the country in the summer.

He could even have aspirations of playing in the Premier League after putting in “magnificent” displays in the Championship.

A lot of factors and variables play into Everton’s hands and they cannot lose hope despite their attempts to personally call and convince him over a deadline day switch.
