Everton: Colombia physio makes Merseyside trip to help Yerry Mina
An orthopaedic therapist has made the long journey from Colombia to Merseyside to help Everton defender Yerry Mina, according to Gol Caracol.
The Toffees’ central defender has been missing for much of the 2022-23 season so far and sparked Frank Lampard’s signings of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady as a result along with Ben Godfrey’s own injury.
The 28-year-old has been struggling in his rehabilitation from injury and called upon the help of the Colombian physio consultant to guide him through the process.

Carlos Palomeque answered the call and made the 5,000-mile trip to Merseyside to be by Mina’s side after the Colombian international returned to training too soon and aggravated the injury.
The Toffees did have the best defence in the Premier League prior to their game away at Tottenham Hotspur but they have since fallen below Newcastle United in the standings.
Cautious
Such has been the solidity installed into the Everton side by Lampard, Coady and Tarkowski this season, there should be no desperate need to get Mina back to full fitness from those at Finch Farm.
The 28-year-old also won’t have to worry about the World Cup in Qatar and being ready for that either as Colombia failed to qualify from the ultra-competitive South American federation by being beaten by Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

That month with no games for Everton should be an ideal time for Mina to really work on getting back to not only match fitness but also ensuring these constant injuries don’t keep reappearing time and time again.
Ideally, Lampard will probably want to take him to Australia for the Sydney Cuper Cup and get him some semi-competitive games before throwing him into the cauldron of the Premier League but that won’t be a huge concern if he misses out.
Coady and Tarkowski are a hard pairing to shift so the best he can hope for is the bench anyway at the moment, even if he was fully fit.
