Jeff Stelling predicts Everton v Crystal Palace and Manchester United v Chelsea for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has backed Everton to return to winning ways in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on Saturday 22nd October.

The Sky Sports host has predicted that it will finish 1-0 to the home side as the Toffees return to Goodison Park looking for three important points.

Frank Lampard will be desperate for that after disappointing performances on the road against both Spurs and Newcastle across the past week.

Writing in his predictions for Sky Sports’ Super 6 on their website, Stelling thinks there will be many close games in the Premier League over the weekend.

“I think Chelsea will get the better of Manchester United on Saturday, two teams who are in really great form at the moment,” he said. “In front of goal, I think Chelsea will have that clincal edge to get over the line and earn three points.

“Elsewhere, Arsenal will continue their brilliant start to the season with a narrow win at Southampton.”

Needed.

The Premier League is so tight right now that a couple of wins can catapult you upwards.

Lampard will be telling his side that as they look to bounce back after disappointing away trips has left a winless run go through the camp at Finch Farm.

Crystal Palace have picked up a couple of wins themselves lately, but they haven’t looked convincing in doing so, meaning this should be an open game.

Both Leeds and Wolves scored first at Selhurst Park before throwing it away, and if Everton score first here, they will not be as open as that duo in defending the lead.

Changes will be expected again with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin failing to catch the eye as he finally returned to the starting lineup at St James’ Park.

Getting those three points are all that matter, and Lampard is the man to get that done with the likes of Conor Coady demanding the squad to be more ruthless – let’s show that here.
