Everton confirm starting XI for must-win clash v Crystal Palace

Everton have confirmed their starting Xi for Saturday afternoon’s match against Crystal Palace, in a must-win game for Frank Lampard.

The pressure is well and truly on for Lampard after three successive defeats for Everton and facing a fierce Palace team on the back of a solid win.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Frank Lampard named an unchanged first XI from Wednesday’s clash against Newcastle.

Three points.

Everton must get three points from this game or risk falling into an unfavourable rut that leaves them lingering above the relegation zone.

It’s fair to say the team wasn’t expected to beat Manchester United or Tottenham and an in-form Newcastle United side.

Nevertheless, Palace at home presents Lampard and co with a solid chance at getting some points on the board, the Londoners are dangerous but beatable.

The Toffees need to recapture some of that fine early-season form and get their campaign back on track, they will have the 12th man of Goodison behind them too.

The performance on Wednesday evening against Newcastle simply wasn’t good enough, the team creating little to no chances and never looked like winning the game.

To be honest, it was probably the teams worst game of the season so far, the fight and desire shown in previous games went missing completely, and that grit needs to be seen again today.
