BBC pundits rave about Everton central defender James Tarkowski
Martin Keown and Danny Murphy have showered heaps of praise on Everton defender James Tarkowski on BBC Match of the Day.
The England centre-back was superb during the game against Crystal Palace as the Toffees won 3-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday (22 October) in the Premier League.
Keown has hailed him as “outstanding” while Murphy has said that he is “the best” English centre-back playing at the moment in the league.

“Tarkowski for me is a brilliant addition. Very sensible. He for me at the moment is the best English centre-half who has been playing regularly. He’s been that good,” said Danny Murphy on Match of the Day.
“Tarkowski..I mean the statistics suggest. [I don’t think he (Southgate) is going to go with him (World Cup)]. Maybe it’s just his pace. I don’t take anything away from him. He’s been outstanding, his leadership as well.”

Everton fans won’t lose their sleep if Tarkowski is selected by Gareth Southgate for the England team or not.
Frank Lampard sensed the opportunity to sign Tarkowskin in the summer on a free transfer, and what a signing he has turned out to be.
He has forged a strong partnership with Conor Coady at the back, and the duo has telepathic communication between them.

Against Palace, Tarkowski was immense as the Toffees kept a clean sheet.
Lampard does have plenty of options at the back, but it seems it is really difficult to drop these two players. Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina (injured) will have to wait for their chances.
The Toffees returned to winning ways after three consecutive defeats, and it was a scintillating performance against Palace. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was back among goals, while Anthony Gordon and Dwight McNeil also got their names on the scoresheet as well.
