Sky Sports pundit blown away by Everton ace Alex Iwobi during Crystal Palace victory

Iain Dowie was impressed with Alex Iwobi’s performance as he set up the opening goal for Everton in their 3-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The former Arsenal attacker played on the wing instead of his customary central midfield position and put in a high-energy display along with setting up the opener for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

He also added another assist when Dwight McNeil found the back of the net in the 84th minute.

Speaking on the Premier League world feed, Dowie, a Sky Sports pundit, said (22/10, 15:28), “Iwobi has been outstanding. His energy is different class. He’s been everywhere.”

Phenomenal

Iwobi was undoubtedly the best player on the pitch by a country mile and he has become a truly splendid player under Frank Lampard.

There were calls to cash in on his services over the summer as his performances last season were underwhelming, to say the least.

He struggled to maintain consistency and his lack of end product frustrated a number of Everton fans.

However, since his move to central midfield, his confidence has hit an all-time high and one can see just how it’s impacting his game.

Even when he played on the right wing, he’s still got that killer instinct and long may it continue for the Nigerian.

His resurgence is undoubtedly one of Lampard’s biggest success stories at Goodison Park and he’s gone on from being an outcast to an untouchable.
