Everton boss Frank Lampard hails Seamus Coleman for performance v Crystal Palace
Everton boss Frank Lampard has been singing the praises of defender Seamus Coleman for his outstanding performance against Crystal Palace.
The Blues cruised to a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon against a solid Palace side and looked every inch the team fans have been craving.
Lampard admitted that defender Coleman’s “determination” shined bright in the fixture and commended the veteran’s quality in 1v1 situations.

“Thirteen years at the levels with the input that he puts in on and off the pitch. His performance was outstanding,” Lampard said speaking on the Toffees TV Youtube channel.
“Zaha is one of the best one-v-one players in the league. We spoke about trying to protect – when I say protect, doubling up because Eze is on that side as well.
“But in the one-v-one moments, Seamus’ determination, his quality. You can’t understate at 34, having been injured, playing three games in a week is a testament to his character and his quality.”
Class.
Coleman has been nothing short of a class act since coming into sure things up for the injured Nathan Patterson, proving many naysayers wrong.
The Everton defender has been a solid option at the back for the Blues in recent weeks and his strong performances are a testament to his professionalism.
There’s no doubt that Patterson will likely regain his spot at right-back once he’s fit and ready but Coleman has proved yet again he’s a vital squad option to have.
It makes things so much easier when you have a talent who can come in and do a job for your team, especially when surprising injuries occur.
Keeping an in-form Wilfred Zaha at bay is no easy feat and the fact Coleman made things look easy against him speaks volumes about the Toffees veteran.
Coleman turned 34 earlier this month and still looks every inch the player he was when he arrived at Goodison Park, he may have a few more seasons left in him just yet.
