Alan Shearer puts Everton duo in Premier League Team of the Week after Crystal Palace clash
Alan Shearer has put Everton defenders Seamus Coleman and James Tarkowski in his Premier League Team of the Week after the Crystal Palace win.
The former Newcastle striker was impressed with the Toffees’ defensive display as they secured an impressive 3-0 victory over the London outfit.
He also said that Tarkowski now deserves to be considered by Gareth Southgate for his England squad in the World Cup next month.

Shearer told the Premier League website, “Seamus Coleman didn’t give Wilfried Zaha a kick as Everton cruised to victory.
“James Tarkowski (is) doing his best to get into the England squad with performances like this.”
No Iwobi?
We’re surprised that Casemiro and Youri Tielemans made his team of the week but there was no mention of Iwobi who was arguably the best Everton player on the day.
Sure, Coleman and Tarkowski had good games, but the former Arsenal ace had an unforgettable game and absolutely ran the show.
He’s usually featured in midfield but he did exceptionally well playing on the right and absolutely took the game to Palace.
Shearer makes a very good point about Tarkowski and we’ll be really surprised if he doesn’t go to the World Cup along with Conor Coady.
Southgate needs to understand that the two have played together and their chemistry will be transferable to the national squad as well.
Harry Maguire keeps getting selected even though he doesn’t play for his club and we’ll be surprised if Tarkowski is not even considered, at the very least.
