James Tarkowski drools over Everton teammate Conor Coady

James Tarkowski has suggested that Everton defender Conor Coady has been “different class” since he joined the club from Wolves.

The Toffees signed both Tarkowski and Coady in the summer window as Frank Lampard looked to sort out the leaky defence.

The pair has been outstanding so far and they have helped stabilise the back-line. Tarkowski has suggested that Coady gives the impression that he has been here for so long.

“I’ve known Conor for a long time. I’ve played against him all through the ages,” he BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club.

“I’ve known him since we were about eight or nine and we just hit it off straight away. He’s a great lad, great to have around the place and it’s been brilliant to play alongside him.

“The moment he walked in, it was like he had been there for years. He has got so much confidence in himself, and rightly so. He has been different class since he came in.”

Superb

Lampard has made some cracking signings this summer, and there is a vast improvement already.

His first step was to bolster the defence. By signing both Coady and Tarkowski, he added experience to the side.

Both are established Premier League defenders, and they have showed their class so far. Tarkowski’s reading and anticipation have been tremendous, while Coady stays rock solid at the back, making late clearances.

The understanding between the pair is telepathic, and it amazes us how quickly they have jelled together.

The pair is growing in confidence with every single game. Everton now have a solid defensive set up. Lampard still has the likes of Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, and Ben Godfrey as other options.

Godfrey is likely to return shortly and it will be a huge boost for the club. It remains to be seen what Lampard does with Keane and Mina, both are looking surplus to requirements at the moment.
