Mark Lawrenson predicts scoreline of Everton clash v Fulham
Everton will travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday (29 October), and Mark Lawrenson has predicted the scoreline for that game.
Fulham have made a strong start to the season and they head into this game on the back of a 3-2 win against Leeds United in the previous game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored in the last match for the Toffees as they returned to winning ways against Crystal Palace, with a thumping 3-0 victory.
“Fulham are doing fab and beat Leeds last time out. Everton have got a purpose now Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s back in. I’ll go for a draw here,” said Lawrenson to Paddy Power.
“Fulham are just getting on with it nicely and Aleksandar Mitrovic looks like he’s going to keep scoring on a regular basis. Fulham 1-1 Everton.”
After three defeats in a row, Frank Lampard’s side bounced back to winning ways against Palace.
To be fair, Everton’s performance at Goodison Park has always been top-quality under Lampard. The Toffees were further boosted as Calvert-Lewin scored the opening goal against the Eagles.
Calvert-Lewin has missed a chunk of action this season through injury and he will be looking to make a serious impact on the team with goals and assists.
The Toffees boss will also welcome Nathan Patterson for this game. The young Scottish defender has been outstanding this season, and his return to the first team will a different dimension to the side, although Seamus Coleman was equally brilliant.
The Toffees, however, need to improve their away form, which is very poor under Lampard. They need to change their mindset when they play outside Goodison Park.
Mitrovic is one player who can be a game-changer for the home side. But, the Toffees defenders, mainly Conor Coady and James Tarkowski, should be able to deal with his threat.
