Everton and Frank Lampard will feel hard done by after Liverpool-Jurgen Klopp fine revealed

Everton fans and Frank Lampard will certainly feel hard done by after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was fined £30,000 for his outburst v Manchester City.

The German was up in arms and was all over the fourth official for a decision that went wrong and even got sent off in that game.

However, per Times’ Paul Joyce, he has just got a small fine and will not even face a ban from the touchline for the clash against Leeds United.

He wrote on Twitter, “Jurgen Klopp has been fined £30,000 for his sending-off against Manchester City. The Liverpool manager has not been given a touchline ban.”

This is baffling as Lampard was handed the same fine for doing something that was ten times more innocuous and something that all managers do.

Last season, a clear-cut penalty was denied to the Toffees against Liverpool and Lampard, like all other managers, was asked about it in his post-match press conference.

He said that he’s seen such calls given and even went on record to say that if Mo Salah had been the one who was brought down, a penalty would’ve been given.

Via the Guardian, the Everton boss said, “It is a penalty for me. You don’t get them here. If that was Mo Salah at the other end he gets a penalty. I’m not trying to create conflict; it’s just the reality of football. I have played in teams in the top half of the league – you get them. That was a penalty for sure. It’s a clear foul.”

This is nowhere close to what Klopp did and it shows a clear bias towards the big six clubs in the country.

Lampard would surely be fuming after seeing this as the same kind of precedent is not applied to all managers and that’s not how it should be.

Hopefully, the Toffees fans do not witness another officiating howler as Simon Hooper will be the fourth official for the game against Fulham.
