Fabrizio Romano reveals exciting update on Everton-linked forward Jonathan David

Fabrizio Romano has revealed an exciting update on Lille forward Jonathan David, who has been linked with a move to Everton.

The Toffees are one of several clubs interested in the in-form forward and Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims Everton are keen on making a deal this summer.

Transfer guru Romano has now confessed that there is a “great chance” that David will leave Ligue 1 club Lille in the summer or even January.

Everton

“Jonathan David, I’m told that soon, many clubs will move and there is a great, great chance for him to make his move in 2023,” Romano claimed on his YouTube channel.

“Let’s see if it will be January, let’s see if it will be [in the] summer, but Jonathan David is expected to leave Lille in 2023 and many clubs are tracking him.”

Everton

Everton has nothing to lose and everything to gain by making a move for one of Europe’s hottest talents in David.

It would be foolish of the Blues hierarchy not to make an attempt to sign the forward, especially when you consider Everton’s forward woes.

Neal Maupay can’t be trusted on the regular to bang in goals for the Toffees and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s questionable fitness issues are worrying, to say the least.

David would provide Everton with a proven poacher, something the team desperately craves and a signing that would elevate Lampard’s team to the next level.

It will be a tough slog to convince him of joining the ranks at Goodison Park, but the allure of the Premier League and the promise of a new state-of-the-art stadium will work in Everton’s favour.

Why not Everton? David has the potential to be a Premier League superstar and can catapult the Blues into European contention.
