Tim Cahill makes strong Everton key role admission as he eyes Goodison Park return
Tim Cahill has suggested that he will be open to a return to Everton if there’s an opportunity.
Mark Noble was appointed as West Ham’s sporting director last month, and Cahill could eye a similar role at the Merseyside club.
He was consulted during Everton’s appointment of Frank Lampard, and suggested that a boardroom role at the club is still a work in progress.

“Farhad Moshiri asked me to be part of the process in picking Frank and that [a role at Everton] is a work in progress. I’m a work in progress,” said Cahill in an interview with Daily Mail.
“My Everton connection will always be there. How that is going forward is down to the owners to talk about. For me, to be a strong leader, you have to evolve. If I want to go to Everton one day, I’m going to go with my eyes wide open. I’m only 42. When an opportunity comes, I need to be ready.”
Vital role
The 42-year-old is a favourite among the fans, and he would be a welcome addition to the boardroom.
Cahill has suggested that he wants to improve the structure and system at the club, and made some suggestions to Moshiri which the club has implemented.
This summer, Everton did really well in the transfer window. The club have squandererd loads of money on buying mediocre players in the previous windows.

The Toffees operated on a tight budget this summer, and they did manage to bring some very good players who have already made an impact so far.
Last season, Everton narrowly escaped relegation. But they have made a decent start to the new Premier League campaign. The Toffees are a strong force at home, but they need to improve their away form as well.
Everton will face Fulham in their next Premier League game on Saturday (29 October) at Craven Cottage.
