Everton to reward travelling fans with honourable gesture in Cup clash v Bournemouth
Everton have announced that they will ensure travelling fans pay nothing when attending the club’s fourth-round Carabao Cup tie at Bournemouth on Tuesday 8 November.
The honourable gesture is to repay Evertonians’ loyalty for making two trips to the South Coast in the space of four days, with the Toffees also scheduled to face the Cherries on Saturday 12 November in the Premier League.
This is a fantastic offering from the Blues hierarchy and isn’t the first time the club have handed out support to fans who are travelling for cup ties.

The fixture was already sold out before this announcement was made, meaning all fans will receive a reimbursement of their ticket for the game.
This will be in the form of a credit balance that will be added to the lead ticket-payer’s account for the game at the Vitality Stadium.

Class.
In a modern game dominated by oligarchs, princes and Sheikhs, gestures like this one go to show there are still owners out there who care for the fans.
It doesn’t take much for an owner to dip into their pocket and give back to a loyal fanbase and this shows that it’s very doable.
Hopefully, more fans can see benefits like this from their much-loved clubs, especially considering the current cost of living crisis.
The move was said to be applauded by the Everton Fans’ Forum and Supporters’ Club Committee and the cup tie presents a solid chance at some silverware this season.
The Carabao Cup is usually dominated by Premier League juggernauts Manchester City, but with the current crowded fixture list, bigger teams will likely field weakened sides.
It would be lovely to see the Toffees end their trophy drought with Frank Lampard at the helm, domestic competitions offer them the best opportunity to do this.
