Everton-linked winger Nicolas Jackson’s contract squabbles leave door open for move

Everton are one of a number of clubs being linked with a move for Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Barcelona are also said to be in the running for the talented youngster’s signature.

The report suggests that due to the contract of the Senegalese star running out next summer, “the door is open” for Everton and other teams to make a move.

Jackson was only promoted to the La Liga sides’ first team in August but has since shone due to his frightening pace and attacking talents.

He provides Everton with some food for thought, the Toffees’ current attacking options are misfiring and in need of a revamp.

Everton

Do it.

Jackson is raw and still needs a heap load of moulding but he could be the exact weapon Everton need to bolster their attack.

Lampard has been pretty vocal in his efforts to get some more attacking options at the club and he’s right in his efforts to do so.

Everton can’t rely on Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score every game and more options need to be added to the squad.

And although Jackson needs some time to be crafted into a better prospect there’s arguably no better coach than Lampard to do just this.

The Villarreal winger is also the kind of player the Blues need to be trying to sign, he’s young and got bags of potential.

His contract squabbles may provide the Toffees with a chance to get him on the cheap too. This is something that needs to be majorly considered when looking at the winger as a possible signing.
