Everton: Dele Alli downfall at Besiktas leaves talkSPORT pundit gutted
Dele Alli is enduring a very difficult period of his career having been loaned out to Besiktas by Everton and Tim Sherwood is gutted.
He was Tottenham manager just before Alli made the move to White Hart Lane from Milton Keynes Dons and he wants the England international to open up on the problems.
The comments come after his new Besiktas manager Senol Gunes publicly announced his verdict on the 26-year-old, claiming he had performed “below expectations” with the Turkish side.

“I’d love to talk to the boy and see what’s going on [in his mind] because it’s a real shame and there is still time for him,” Sherwood said to talkSPORT. “He’s so capable. He has to look in the mirror and really be honest with himself.
“I’m not sure he blames anyone else, obviously sometimes it’s your fault, it can’t be everyone else’s fault all of the time, so sometimes you have to really be honest with yourself, dust yourself down and reset.”
Ship has sailed
It would take something truly remarkable at Goodison Park for Alli to return and become a key part of Frank Lampard’s plans going forward now that the boss has a settled midfield trio.

The 26-year-old is struggling to even break into a Besiktas side in such poor form that they sacked Valerien Ismael from his manager’s post as a result.
If Alli was not on loan from Everton, the Toffees’ scouts would not be taking any interest in signing him back to Lampard at Finch Farm so unless he changes something before his loan deal ends at the end of the season, then he doesn’t have a future on Merseyside.
Farhad Moshiri and Kevin Thelwell need to make the best decision for him and the football club and try to sell him next summer if the Turkish Super League side doesn’t trigger the optional future fee in the loan deal.
