Everton duo return to training ahead of Leicester City Premier League clash

Everton defenders Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey have been spotted in training ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Mina has not featured for the Toffees since the opening weekend of the season and even in that game, he played just 70 minutes.

Godfrey, who also was last spotted in the same Chelsea clash, lasted for just 18 minutes before he had to be withdrawn.

Via Twitter, Everton shared pictures of the duo back in training.

Unlikely to play

It’s always welcome news to see players returning back from injuries, especially if they’ve only played one game all season and suffered a problem in that one.

However, we think that the Leicester clash will be too soon for them and they’re unlikely to feature in this one without training with the under-21s and playing a few games for them.

Godfrey is one of the most versatile players in the squad and Frank Lampard will be counting on him not just for this season but even for the future.

When it comes to Mina, there’s a very good chance that Everton decide to pull the trigger and cash in on him in January.

His injury record has been woeful and even when fit, he will not start over Conor Coady and James Tarkowski who have been exemplary this season.

The duo have overachieved in terms of what many fans expected from them and it will make no sense to break that pairing up.
