Everton stadium development sees part of Goodison Park added to Bramley-Moore dock

The first of the 731 brick facade panels that will clad Everton’s new stadium have been installed in a design that will mirror elements of the Goodison Park latticework.

Day by day, Everton fans are hearing more news on major developments taking place at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

The architect behind the structure, Dan Meis admitted that replicating the truss design from Goodison into the facade was an “opportunity to do something different”.

“This was an opportunity to do something different and then you add in the history of this site with the dock,” said Meis speaking to the Liverpool Echo.

“The brick that surrounds it and the Mersey, all of that plays into this and it creates a place.”

Progress.

Some serious progress has been made in recent months on the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium and finally, fans have something to get excited about.

It did seem for a while that not much was happening with Everton’s new stadium, but any doubts circulating its construction have been firmly put to bed.

Everton will end their 130-year stay at Goodison Park when the 2024/2025 season begins and it will be sad to leave the Blues forever home.

Nevertheless, in the modern game there is no time for precious history and dull, damp grounds, if you want to improve changes like this must be made.

Hopefully, the famous Goodison atmosphere can be replicated at the new stadium, this is something that may be quite hard to do.

Arsenal moving from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium is a prime example of a raucous party-like atmosphere not being well transferred to a modern new building.

Hopefully, this isn’t the case.
