David Ornstein drops major Everton takeover hint on Twitter
David Ornstein has dropped a major new takeover hint at Everton despite speculation going quiet after months of continuous stories breaking at Goodison Park.
The Athletic journalist reported that Liverpool have been put up for sale by their American owners, FSG, with a full sales presentation being prepared at Anfield.
Ornstein didn’t stop there though, questioning that Everton could be “next” with monumental movement clearly expected on Merseyside.
Writing on his personal Twitter account after being praised for his work on a separate story over the past 24 hours, Ornstein made it very clear what could follow.
“Thanks, Phil,” he wrote.
“Everton next?! See you in Qatar.”

Takeover.
It has been on the cards all year at Goodison Park but is still yet to materialise past talks.
Peter Kenyon and his consortium managed to enter an exclusivity period with Farhad Moshiri, but nothing came from that and the former Chelsea man eventually pulled out of those talks.
More recently, it was reported that Jeffrey Soros and Maciek Kaminski are both separately interested in taking over the Toffees, but Moshiri is more interested in outside investment.
Paul Joyce even reported that a minority stake could be offered to Kaminski as Moshiri looks to continue funding the new £550million stadium.
The owner has pumped plenty of cash into the club, and since cutting ties with Alisher Usmanov, much funding disappeared as he looks to propel the club towards the new stadium.
Never say never to Everton being the next club under that new ownership microscope, with clear interest on the table as Liverpool get set to enter a new phase too.
