Everton predicted XI v Bournemouth: James Garner to make first start in nine changes

Frank Lampard is expected to shuffle the Everton pack when they take on Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The Toffees suffered a home defeat against Leicester over the weekend and the manager will be looking to get at least one more win before the World Cup break.

We expect him to make a wholesale number of changes for this one, with James Garner finally getting his first start for the club he joined in the summer.

In the second round clash against Fleetwood Town, Asmir Begovic deputised for Jordan Pickford and we expect this to happen against Bournemouth as well.

The back four is likely to be changed completely with Nathan Patterson finally getting the start after his return from injury as he looks to play his way back to full fitness.

Yerry Mina is in contention to play since injuring himself in the first week of the season and Lampard could look to start him along with Michael Keane.

Loanee Ruben Vinagre has been a decent backup to Vitalii Mykolenko and we expect him to start over the everpresent Ukrainian.

Everton

Lampard confirmed in his press conference that three or four youngsters could make their debut in this one [Everton official website] but we do not expect any of them to be named in the starting eleven.

Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye’s injury scare also mean that they may not be risked for this one, handing Garner the opportunity to anchor the midfield.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin also is ruled out with another injury so it makes sense for Neal Maupay to be handed the start in this one for Everton.
