Rio Ferdinand reacts as Everton told they must sack Frank Lampard
Rio Ferdinand has reacted to claims for Everton should sack Frank Lampard, saying the former Chelsea boss is suffering from one major hindrance.
Lampard has been vocal in his efforts for the Everton hierarchy to support him more in the transfer window, especially in the attacking department.
Ferdinand confessed that the Blues’ lack of “creativity” in their ranks, was hindering the team’s performance in the Premier League and raising questions over Lampard’s leadership.

“I told you Gerrard was getting a bullet, I told you Lampard was getting a bullet, someone’s out the back loading up a shotgun right now,” said Ferdinand’s co-host Stephen Howson speaking on the Rio Ferdinand presents FIVE podcast.
“I think Frank’s biggest hindrance that he’s got at the moment is a lack of creativity and goals,” Ferdinand replied.
“McNeil’s not scoring, Gordon’s gone off the boil a bit, Iwobi’s their most creative player and he’s playing in midfield, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is carrying too many injuries.
“They got Maupay who never really scored goals for Brighton in a team that created a lot of chances, he’s now gone to a team that doesn’t create a lot of chances.
“So it’s difficult, time will tell with Frank, I hope he doesn’t get sacked.”

Spot on.
Rio’s right on this one and it’s a matter every Evertonian already knows, the team is lacking an out-and-out goalscorer.
This isn’t Lampard’s fault either, he’s asked multiple times for attacking reinforcements and clearly hasn’t been able to get the players he wants.
Lampard needs to be backed in the January transfer window if the Blues want to stand any chance of competing in the top half of the Premier League.
A lack of investment and subsequently goals could see the Toffees fall into another relegation scrap, something no one wants to go through again.
Frank has got his midfield nailed down and Iwobi is one of the top creators in the league, a fierce forward paired in front of him would be a game-changer for the Blues.
Johnathan David would be an absolute dream of a signing but whether he could be convinced to come to Merseyside is another matter altogether.
