Preston boss Ryan Lowe spotted at Everton Under-21 match on Wednesday

Everton Under-21s hosted Paris Saint-Germain’s youth side on Wednesday evening (9 November) and there was a very interested spectator.

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe was seen keeping his eye on the game as his Lilywhites side had the night off from Championship duties.

The Liverpool Echo’s Connor O’Neill reported via his personal Twitter account that he had seen Lowe, a two-time promotion winner with Bury and Plymouth Argyle, at the game.

The French side took an early lead in the game but they were soon put behind the eight-ball as Tom Cannon, fresh off the back of his debut for the first team, scored twice before half-time.

Stanley Mills also featured for Paul Tait’s side less than 24 hours after appearing off the bench for Frank Lampard’s senior outfit in the Carabao Cup defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

January moves?

Perhaps Preston are already looking to the January transfer window and any potential loan signings they can make as soon as the year ticks over to 2023.

Lowe had great success with Cameron Archer from Aston Villa last season but has not been able to replace him once he returned to the Midlands so another loan might be needed.

Everton

Cannon has done himself the world of good by scoring twice in front of the Lilywhites’ boss having just made his senior debut.

Everton need the likes of Cannon, Mills and a few others at Finch Farm to go and get some game time away from Merseyside just as Lewis Warrington, Ellis Simms and Lewis Dobbin are currently.

Preston desperately need goals too having scored just 16 goals this season, lower than any other Championship side although their goal difference of zero shows there are signs of improvement at Deepdale so far.
