Everton player ratings v Bournemouth: Jordan Pickford, Conor Coady disappoint
Everton suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium and did little to allay any relegation fears.
Frank Lampard certainly will have plenty to answer as his side failed to muster the answers and it was a worrying performance from his side.
The Toffees struggled to get out of second gear and it was not a scoreline that flattered the hosts as it was a deserving result.

Here are our player ratings from this one:
Jordan Pickford – 2
He could’ve done better for the first goal as he just parried the ball into play and the Cherries players took full advantage of it. Even for the third one, his defence was all over the place and he could’ve asked the defenders to deal with their men. Pickford has had many good games for Everton this season, but this one has to be his worst.
Nathan Patterson – 5
The Scotland right-back was decent defensively as he won all of his attempted ground duels and did his best to shut the Bournemouth attack down his side. However, he was wayward with his passes and none of his crosses found their target so he did not have the kind of attacking impact as he would’ve wanted.
Conor Coady – 2
Arguably his worst performance for the Toffees since his move over the summer. He looked all over the place, made a number of errors and clearly did not look like the defender Frank Lampard has raved over for the past three months.

James Tarkowski – 3
Much like Coady, it was an awful performance from his English centre-back partner. He made a few blocks but apart from that he did not look up for it either and it often looked like a Championship level defence. Shocking performances at the back.
Vitalii Mykolenko – 4
Didn’t have too much time to create an impact and was taken off mid-way through the first half before things started going south for the visitors.
Alex Iwboi – 4
Looked like the only player in the Toffees team that tried to make things happen and his heat map reflects that. He had touches all over the pitch and even created a big chance for Everton, but to no avail. However, he did not track his runners when Bournemouth scored and also did not defend the free kick for the third too well.
Idrissa Gueye – 3
A pass accuracy of under 75 per cent [SofaScore] is always dismal, especially if one is anchoring the midfield. He also failed to complete a single take on despite making two attempts at it.
Amadou Onana – 6
Provided the little defensive solidity that the Toffees showed in the game. He won most of his duels on the ground and even aerially he won one out of three. He also made three crucial tackles in the game and we were a tad surprised to see him taken off.

Dwight McNeil – 4
Started ahead of Anthony Gordon once again and while he was among the better Everton players on the day, the lack of quality in the final third was costly. He did complete most of his attempted long passes but struggled to take players on and thus failed to create much.
Neal Maupay – 2
He looked like a questionable signing since the start and has done little to prove why the Toffees actually decided to sign him this summer. Brighton were so happy to get rid of him as he was seldom clinical and wasted a big chance nearly every game. Bad game for him and was deservedly brought off. Being a striker, he’s expected to get into the right positions to score, but he managed just two shots all game.
Demarai Gray – 3
A number of hopeless crosses with no real target man really summed up Gray’s night. He looked like he had the hunger to make a difference but the execution was non existent. He had a few shots at goal but nothing to really threaten Mark Tavers.
