Alex Iwobi escorted to tunnel as footage of Everton incident emerges at Bournemouth
Alex Iwobi was escorted down the tunnel after confronting a group of fans after Everton were beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth on Saturday.
The 26-year-old was involved in an altercation with the travelling support, with his shirt being thrown back at him. Jordan Pickford and Seamus Coleman were also involved in the incident.
The Telegraph write (12 November) that Iwobi was “visibly upset” before being guided back down the tunnel after the final whistle.
Unsavoury
The scenes after the loss at the Vitality Stadium were extremely unsavoury and sum up what is a fairly bad feeling surrounding the Toffees at the moment. Two heavy defeats in the space of a week has seen the pressure mount on Frank Lampard, particularly after he rested plenty of players during the League Cup defeat on the South Coast.
This is the worst way possible for the Toffees to head into the international break, with there now being a month for fans to dwell over what has been a torrid week. Things appeared to be heading in the right direction for Lampard, but it’s clear that there’s still a lot of work for the Everton boss to do.

His side are completely ineffectual in attack and when they leak goals, they’re an easy side to play against. This is now a huge period for the Everton boss who has to get things right during the World Cup break.
Lampard has to find a way to make his team more of a threat and also cast an eye ahead to the January window with attacking reinforcements surely top of his agenda.
