Everton shareholder makes Toffees joke after Chelsea v Newcastle Premier League clash

Mike Parry has joked about the challenges of being an Everton fan after Chelsea suffered yet another defeat against Newcastle.

The Toffees shareholder responded to a tweet that stated there are better teams in the Championship right now after the Blues lost 1-0 to the Magpies.

This was their third straight league defeat but it also coincided with Frank Lampard’s men losing 3-0 to Bournemouth.

Via Twitter, Parry wrote, “Try being an Everton fan [at the] moment.”

Tough times

These undoubtedly are hard times being an Everton fan – especially since the start of last season when the club appointed Rafa Benitez.

That was always going to be a tough sell but he could’ve won the supporters with good performances and results.

That clearly did not happen and under Frank Lampard too there have been a number of ups and downs and things are looking tricky at the moment.

Lampard did stop Everton from going down last season, but he now faces serious questions about his ability to guide this team forward.

The club are now winless in their last four games in all competitions and find themselves in 17th place in the Premier League with relegation a real possibility.

There aren’t any plans thus far to sack him now so Lampard must use this break to try and get every on the same page and hopefully, we see a different team at the end of December.
