Frank Lampard slammed by newspaper journalist as Everton decision made at Bournemouth
Sunday Mirror journalist Andy Dunn has slaughtered Everton manager Frank Lampard after what has been a torrid week in Bournemouth.
The Toffees made their first trip to the South Coast on Tuesday (8 November) where they made 11 changes and got thumped 4-1 in the Carabao Cup.
They then headed back to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday (12 November) in the Premier League and were thoroughly out-classed again by Garn O’Neill’s side.

Writing in the Sunday Mirror (print edition, 13 November, page 63), Dunn said: “Apologies for singling him out as he is normally one of the good guys, but what a crying shame that even Frank Lampard is prepared to treat the Carabao Cup as a competition for the reserves.”
“Lampard made 11 changes for the game down at Bournemouth on Tuesday evening and his Everton team was promptly hammered 4-1 by the home team’s reserves.
“This is Everton, by the way, who have not won a trophy in 32 years. This is Everton, a grand, old team to support. Make changes like every manager seems to d when it comes to this competition.
“But fielding a scratch team – giving players a run-out for the sake of it – is showing that the competition really does not matter that much.
“And if you are an Everton fan who has not seen the grand, old team win a pot for more than three decades, it should matter that much.”

Pathetic
Had Everton been dominated by Premier League leaders Arsenal or Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City-sized juggernaut then you could perhaps excuse the two results over those few days.
But this is a Bournemouth side in trouble of relegation themselves and only just returned to the top flight so they should not be so much better than the Toffees.
Lampard has to conduct a major enquiry over the next week or two about how he has allowed such a drop in performance levels after he had seemingly turned to ship around early on in the campaign.
Luckily for him and Everton, the World Cup break is now here and he has loads of time to get back to basics on the training ground with those not heading to Qatar.
When the Premier League resumes after Christmas, he had better come up with the answer or his time on Merseyside could be very short-lived.
