Everton fans out of touch with reality for blaming Alex Iwobi after Bournemouth loss

Everton fans are embarrassing themselves by having a stand-off with Alex Iwobi at full-time after losing 3-0 against Bournemouth.

The Nigeria international went to the travelling support to apologise and thank them for making the trip and they returned the favour by throwing his jersey back on the pitch.

The fans are forgetting that Iwobi has been one of the best if not the best performer for Everton this season and has rarely had a bad game for them but the footage below shows clear disrespect from the fans.

Even against the Cherries, he kept looking to make things happen, always volunteered himself to receive the ball and even had a few shots at goal.

We’re not saying it was his best, but certainly was not a performance for him that would deserve this kind of treatment.

Everton fans are right in their reason to be frustrated as things did not go as per plan and the team looked abject on the pitch.

However, it’s not Iwobi’s fault for that and the blame should lie in Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright’s office.

They’re the ones making the big decisions and appointments and they need to live and die by their choices.

The club has been so badly managed as an entity for the last several years and we’re not surprised that they’re in this state right now.

This cannot continue and the fans need to push for Moshiri to completely get out of the club and sell Everton as soon as possible.
