Everton among number of clubs monitoring Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba
Everton are among a number of Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba after his impressive start to the season, according to 90min.
The former Nottingham Forest stopper has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 side who currently sit second in the table. It’s been reported (90min, 15 November) the Toffees, along with Leicester, Chelsea, Tottenham and Brighton are all interested in the 28-year-old.
It’s understood Lens have no intention of letting the Frenchman leave in January after their “outstanding” campaign to date, with a sizeable offer likely to be required to test the French side’s resolve.

Top keeper
During his time at the City Ground Samba established himself as one of the best keepers in the Championship and it was a big surprise to see the Frenchman return to his home country instead of testing himself in the Premier League. With Asmir Begovic coming to the end of his career, another keeper is certainly required at Goodison Park.
There have also been questions raised over Jordan Pickford’s future on Merseyside with The Telegraph reporting (24 September) that David de Gea’s contract situation at Manchester United could well open the door for Pickford to come in as his replacement.

Everton should certainly be looking to keep England’s number one at Goodison Park for the foreseeable future, with his form over the past two years catching the eye for both club and country. However, it’s also good to see some potential planning taking place just in case Pickford does depart the club in the near future. Samba would certainly be an excellent addition.
