Sky Sports pundit makes Everton fans and Frank Lampard admission as footage emerges from Premier League game v Bournemouth

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster admits that Everton fans have turned on Frank Lampard after what he saw against Bournemouth.

Footage emerged of them booing him as the Toffees lost 3-0 at the Vitality which was their second defeat in the week against the Premier League new boys.

Foster believes that he could be sacked before the Premier League resumes after the World Cup break.

Speaking on the Cycling GK podcast, the Sky Sports pundit said (40:15), “If you saw the scenes after the game, it was not good. Before the Premier League returns, we could see three managers getting sacked. It doesn’t look like they [Everton fans] were backing him on Saturday. No chance.”

No way back?

If away fans start to turn on you, it usually spells the beginning of the end for managers at football clubs.

There are always sections of the home fans that tend to boo managers when things go south for a while, but usually, popular managers get the backing of the away end.

To their credit, most Toffees fans have been sympathetic towards Lampard and have actually given them credit for solidifying this defence.

The Everton back line was leaky when Lampard took over and he managed to bring in two quality centre-backs over the summer to tighten things defensively.

However, going forward, this side looks bereft of ideas and the blame certainly must be attached to the manager along with the players.

We do not know what the right way to get out of this mess is but certainly, something needs to change quickly or Everton could actually get relegated if things do not improve.
