Everton could be planning for Michael Keane transfer with replacement on the cards

Everton appear to be planning to axe Michael Keane and possibly sell him amid his lack of form and numerous injury concerns since Frank Lampard took over.

The England international, who has made 189 appearances for the club, may have only a handful of games left before the decision makers decide to cash in on him.

On 15 November, Tutto Udinese reported that the club were planning a £13million bid for Udinese centre-back Rodrigo Becao which could very well be a sign of them getting rid of Keane.

At 29, he does not seem to be getting any younger and despite his age, still has two and a half years left on his deal – which would mean he could fetch a decent amount of money.

Keane has been a regular for Everton for the past few seasons but it is time for the club to plan for the future.

They cannot achieve progress if they continue to play how they have in the past and that perhaps explains the links to Becao.

Everton know that Keane is no longer the player he was when he signed for the club and cashing in on him should not be viewed as the worst thing in the world for them.

He would not only add some additional money to the club’s coffers but also be an invaluable liability off the payroll without really justifying it towards the end.

Becao would represent an option for the future and also someone who has the potential to get better and does not have his best days behind him.

Hopefully, Kevin Thelwell does not end up overpaying but we do think that he’s worth good value if he’s costing the club £13million.
