Everton receive Premier League apology after fixture reschedule chaos
Everton have received an apology from the Premier League after they delayed making a decision on fixture rescheduling after the World Cup.
The powers that be only finalised the dates for games early in January on Wednesday (16 November) while they should have been sorted by 11 October.
While the very late changes haven’t affected what was already moved around for the Toffees, the delay in confirming dates for matches has caused disruption for fans looking to plan ahead.

“The Premier League apologises to supporters for the delay in announcing these fixtures and understands their frustrations,” a statement read, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“Finalising these particular selections took longer than expected due to difficulties obtaining relevant local stakeholder approvals.
“The League is committed to working with supporters to ensure more effective communication in advance of future fixture announcements and reiterates its apology for the delay on this occasion.”
Typical
The Premier League have never been consistent with their decisions and waiting over a month to finalise things is very poor on their part with no European or international games to worry about during that period.

The only external fixtures that need to be thought of are FA Cup games (which already have a set weekend set aside) and Carabao Cup dates in which Everton are already out after being beaten by Bournemouth.
There has to be some big changes at the very top of the Premier League to try and prevent things like this happening too often in the future because the fans are being toyed with right now.
Of course, some games have to wait to find out a date with progression in Europe potentially meaning teams can’t play on certain days but that shouldn’t have been an issue for this selection of matches.
TV rules don’t help either but Sky Sports and BT Sport will always get their way because they have all the cash.
