Everton star Conor Coady embarrasses media in England World Cup camp
Everton star Conor Coady embarrassed the Daily Mail’s Dominic King in a straight darts shootout in England’s World Cup camp.
The England team and Coady arrived in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup on 15 November 2022 and have since been in training camp.
Coady challenged King to a darts match in which the Daily Mail journalist faced the prospect of utter “humiliation” after his first two failed attempts.

“First dart? One. Oh no. Second dart? Two. Oh for, you know the next two words. I could have said we were playing ’round the clock’ but my mind had been scrambled by the prospect of humiliation and embarrassment. Next dart? Five. Three (darts) for eight, like an old England batting collapse,” said King as quoted by Mail Sport.
“Up stepped Conor, whose first arrow plonked emphatically into 13.
“‘Do I need to continue?’ he said with a smile and a glint in his eye. Of course, he did. He almost got a bullseye with his next before finishing with a six. This painful tale should end there but, no. I threw three more darts to get it out of my system. The total? 10. We’ll leave the sport to the professionals.”

The big stage.
The big stage seemed too much for King to handle, let’s hope Coady can thrive upon it for England if he gets the opportunity to do so in Qatar.
The former Wolves man had a terrific start to the campaign for the Blues before this patch of woeful form that has left the Toffees perilously above the drop zone.
Nevertheless, Coady and Tarkowski have arguably been the club’s stand-out performers alongside Alex Iwobi and the Merseyside native deserves a lot of credit.
At one point this season, Coady boasted of being part of the best defence in the league, something which has unfortunately slipped in recent weeks.
Coady’s form hasn’t as such dipped with this, but more the teams’ overall outings in general and mainly their lack of creativity in front of goal.
This is a gaping hole that has been ever present since Everton let Richarlison leave the club and is something that desperately needs to be addressed in January.
