Jordan Pickford will have no choice other than to quit Everton, ‘it doesn’t look good’ – pundit
Darren Bent believes Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford may be forced to leave Goodison Park in the summer if certain situations occur.
The England number one is set to play every game at the World Cup having been given the prime jersey by Gareth Southgate but with Aaron Ramsdale breathing down his neck, he may have to make a big move.
Everton could force his hand this season too with relegation a real possibility and a season in the Championship likely to destroy his chances of maintaining his position with the Three Lions.
“There is one where certain situations would have to happen and he would have to move on and that’s Jordan Pickford, he told talkSPORT. “I think with the situation at Everton, it doesn’t look good.
“I’m not saying they’re one of the favourites to go down, I think they’ll survive. Lloris is obviously getting on a bit now, over the age of 30 so there’s no reason why Jordan Pickford, who is there, ready, why would you now take him at Spurs?”

Relegation to the Cham[ionship would be as near to a disaster as Everton could get this season regardless of whether it means Pickford would stay or not.
But they especially cannot go down if it means their sole top-class goalkeeper leaves for definite to ensure his own career stays on track.

He is, of course, totally entitled to put himself and his career ahead of the desires of Everton because this is ultimately a job for him and for every player for that matter.
But the Toffees would be much worse off without Pickford in between the sticks as has been proven anytime he has not been able to play and Frank Lampard can’t afford that to become permanent.
Tottenham will no doubt try to make their move in January to find Lloris’ successor and will come again in the summer if they can’t complete the deal but if Everton want any hope of keeping their star man, survival is a must.
